The Helping Hands Program is an all-extensive program that focuses on an year-round implementation of the educational aspects of our mission. The program recognizes that rebuilding the whole public school system is going to be a long arduous task. However, we also recognize that we CAN make a difference in the future of at least one child. Helping Hands has been striving to find local students and helping them get enrolled in better schools. In addition, we aim to work with local educators to slowly build a better public school system and a better curriculum for the future students of Punjab.
The Helping Hands Program has partnered with a local area school: Little Angel's School, Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab. The program has already enrolled 15 students who come from families currently living in poverty and have troubled home lives. This campaign is working to raise money to assist the families to pay for school and other fees in order to bring beneficial education to their homes.
Moreover, the program has partnered with Sikh Kid 2 Sikh Kid (SK2K) to implement English-speaking sessions through weekly webinars throughout the year. This opportunity joins the students from India via a virtual video chat link with students in the United States.
