The Progressive Sikh Foundation Gurdwara is a center for Sikh youth in surrounding villages. The Gurdwara has daily morning and evening prayers that youth and their families are encouraged to attend. On the weekends, students can learn to read Gurbani or practice their Gatka.
PSF also aims to reinvent other Village Gurudwaras to be village centers and be the arm of progress for each community. During the time of the Gurus, the Gurus not only established institutes to meet religious and spiritual needs, but also mechanisms to provide for the economical, educational growth of that society. Today, the Gurudwaras in India only serve as a place to inact religious tradition and prayer. We want to help change this mindset so that the youth of each village can have a safe place to voice their concerns and learn from one another.
